F15s trying out for Nascar; Kudzu gets defluffed

I got home this evening and there were these jets flying overhead. That's not unusual because we live near an Warner Robins AFB. What was weird is that these jets are trying out for Nascar. They spent close to an hour flying in circles overhead. I had time to feed Asia and Babe and go back into the house for my camera and take these pics. I really need to get a telephoto or zoom lens.

Around and around and around. John says that it costs about $10,000 an hour to fly a jet, so that's $20,000 circling around at pretty low altitude right over the Black Hole.

I'm sure it doesn't surprise you to learn that my horses are pretty inured to sonic booms. This is a good thing. ;0)

Kudzu, our thinking dog, sheds a lot. I grew up with dachshunds: mighty, nonshedding tyrants. Kudzu has been an eye opener. He sheds enough fur every day that by all rights he should be bald. Here's a picture of John defluffing Zuzer about 20 minutes ago. I dragged him outside to identify the jets that were flying overhead. He watched them come over on one of their many circles and announced with authority, "F15s." It's nice to have an authority on hand. I could have asked Ryan, the 7 year old son of my best friend as he also knows about planes in the minute detail and with great depth that young children have for horses, Pokemons, dinosaurs, and airplanes, but he was not handy as he was home in Macon eating dinner. Maybe his momma will show him these pics. No doubt he will say, "F15s" with all the same authority as his Uncle John.

Kudzu really enjoys getting defluffed. Click on any picture to see it larger.
