Prompt: Party. What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans.
I'm delaying answering this one, too. First off, I can't think of a single social gathering that I attended that would qualify as rocking my socks off. What can I say but that I'm old and boring? I'm going to take a pass on this one and I've still not come up with an answer for yesterday's. Not that I'm not wonderfully different and brilliant and funny, I'm sure that I am someway, but I've not had time to reflect on this and meanwhile, there's a load of clothes spinning away in my new washing machine (yay!) and I'm sleepy and I don't much feel like ruminating on how I'm beautifully different, other than my love of fungus causes my friend JoAnna great glee. We'll be riding through the Hitchitee Woods or at Horse Camp (1099) and as I'm leaning way out of the saddle with my point-and-shoot camera, she'll say, "Girl, you are amusing!" and we laugh and I point out all the times that I'm not stopping to take a picture of fungus, but that this particular fungus is so worthy.
See what I mean? Have you noticed that I've got a label for this post of fungus? Click on it and you'll find other posts about the same. I love the stuff. It's so pretty and so varied and it's just about everywhere out in the woods.
Peace out. I just heard the washer cut off and I have to run. Gotta go oooh and aaaah over clean clothes. Imagine the joy I get from having a dryer, too! :-)

I am learning that the "rock your socks off" things aren't the "big" things, but the "small and ordinary" are.
My new washer and dryer purchased in a six month time span changed my life for the better. Knowing I could wash clothes and dry them without a lot of effort gave me the mental space to move on to the things that might rock my world.
And the washer just ding-donged its "I'm done" tune. That rocks!
