Old friends, Reverb 10

Spending the weekend in Dawsonville with Christi and her family. Christi and I met 30 years ago when I was 19 and she was 17 and we were counselors at Cotton Harrison's Camp and we've been through so much together that I can't begin to list the major life events, but they include marriages, babies, and divorces, hashing, horses, and knowing that we're there for each other when need be. There's that old story about who would you call at 3:00 a.m. when you've been arrested? Well, Christi wouldn't be that person because she'd be in the jail with me. She's my partner in crime and she knows where all the bodies are buried.

Today we watched Eddie Izzard's Dressed to Kill, bought a Christmas tree and strung at least 20 strands of lights on it. We also brought home half of a new grill since the old one died (her husband brought home the other half in his car) and although I had every intention to go run, somehow, it just didn't happen. Woe. ;-)

Tomorrow it's supposed to snow here, but not until mid afternoon, so I should have no problems getting home. I get to spend Monday through Wednesday in Atlanta working at the Secretary of State's Corporations division. I'll spend the night with friends and not commute back and forth and Wednesday night I'm looking forward to going to see Patti Digh speak at Charis Bookstore.
If I'm going to be in the big city, by darn, I'm going to take advantage of it. I've been reading Creative is a Verb the past two weeks and it's a phenomenal book. Ms. Digh spoke at the Decatur Book Festival last September, but I missed her talk because I rode in the Macc 1 Love bike ride that morning and got to the Festival late. I didn't know the first thing about her then, but I do now and am excited about hearing her talk in person.

Today's Reverb 10 prompt is this: 11 Things. What are 11 things your life doesn't need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life?

Hmm, I need to think about this one. I seem to be doing that a lot with the last few prompts, taking a pass.

I would bail both of you out, but if you are having that much fun I would prefer to be invited.

I am glad you are enjoying Patti's work. I haven't given up on being there Wednesday night. If you are enjoying "Creative is a Verb" and the Reverb Prompts, then "Life is a Verb" will also be right up your alley.

And I figured out the comment issue on my blog. I hadn't set a control correctly. So much to learn.....
