India in the field

India ventured out into the big field and did well. I went along riding Jenny's mare, Wendy, who is a delightful ride as she's very responsive and leg yields at the slightest touch. Very fun to ride. However, in the video below, and for the pictures above, Wendy was the tripod (quodropod?) holding up me and the camera.

Watch Jenny's hands during a turn. The hand that is on the side that Jenny wants India to turn to opens wide, effectively opening the gate allowing India to turn into that space. Jenny's outside leg (the leg that is opposite the direction of the turn) provides incentive by telling India to turn away from the pressure caused by Jenny kicking with that leg. This is the baby step for India learning to leg yield.
