The welcome home banner on University Avenue. The Yea, Sewanee's Right comes from our school cheer:
Tigers, Tigers
Leave 'em in the lurch,
Down with the heathens,
Up with the Church!
Yea, Sewanee's Right!!
Best school cheer ever. *g* My class had a good time hashing out our college years. However, I begged off from the football game Saturday afternoon to ride 4+ miles of The Perimeter Trail. http://www.sewanee.edu/sop/perimetertrail.htm Gorgeous trail and here's a picture of the most gorgeous bike on the planet enjoying the fall sunshine.
No reunion would be complete without purchasing some souvenirs. I got the usual stuff: alumni stickers, mugs, a commemorative, coffee-table book full of gorgeous photos, but I also found these two paintings. They were reasonably priced and now they're mine:
On today's drive home I stopped in Chattanooga at Raccoon Mountain and rode Lower Chunky, Small Intestine, and the East Rim of the Switchyard Connector. Great, swoopy singletrack and I had a blast. Two days in a row of mountain biking! How cool is that?
It's nice to be home amid my stuff with my dogs and horses. And now, off to bed. I stayed up way past my bedtime both nights. Work is going to be so incredibly boring tomorrow. Feh....
