Picture of Katie's farm pond, where Asia and India live. Took this picture this morning right after I got out there about 9:00 a.m. It was a chilly 35 degrees. Brrrr!Worked with Jenny on trailer loading of India. The trips to the miracle vet have shown that India's loading isn't 100%, so I asked Jenny to work with the POTU today and we did for about three hours. There are times she loads without any fuss and then there are times when she acts as though her sire must have been a donkey because she will be as stubborn as a mule, putting in a good brace. Jenny gets her feet moving again and India loads, but the fact that she gets her feet stuck is troubling. I'm going to spend more time working on her leading this month before our return visit on November 30th.

That's Asia in the front stall facing the rear of the trailer. After we worked on India loading into the front, I wanted her to load into the second spot, the rear of the trailer. This was good for Asia too, as she had to stand there in her spot while Jenny worked with India. All told, Asia was in that spot for about 45 minutes and there was some pawing once, but she settled in and was calm.
This is huge for Asia as six years ago I couldn't even get her on a trailer and she's always had issues.
We froze a lot today as the wind was chilly and constant. Thankfully, I had the right clothes and a good camp chair to sit in as my back is giving me fits again. I was a fool to move five bags of feed by myself yesterday, but my back was feeling so much better that I just forgot that three weeks ago it felt as bad as it does now. I am an idiot. Oh well...ibuprofen and Ben Gay Pain Patches to the rescue!
A good weekend all in all.

Oh yes, you have to remember the back thing at *all* times...annoying as all get out, but it will save you in the long run. I'd personally rather work on trailer loading on a raw-ish day than when it's 100+ degrees out (like working in a giant Easy Bake Oven!) Hope your back feels better soon.
