Hypocrisy

I began to grow disgusted with the Susan G. Komen Foundation last year when I heard that they were bullying other groups that used the words "for the Cure" in any way, shape, or form, but the recent decision by that organization to quit donating money for breast cancer screening to Planned Parenthood caused me to completely lose faith in them. Apparently, it's ok for them to want to protect life before birth, but forget it after the baby is born. Because you know, cutting off funding for cancer screenings really proves how pro-life you are!

Please read my friend Katherine's blog for a very well thought out post. It's here, or click on the link for Rural and Progressive to the right and then scroll down to her second posting on the page. The first, about protecting our waterways, is well worth reading, too.

I've donated to Planned Parenthood in the past and I certainly will be again.

Today I made another donation to Planned Parenthood in honor of Karen Handel. Mayor Bloomberg bested me with a $250,000 matching gift to the organization.

If nothing else this shines a bright light on who provides the services that make up the safety net (the one Romney will fix if there are holes in it. I guess he would. First he was pro-choice, now he isn't.....).
