Jenny always praises India when transitioning.
How many young horses can you turn like that? *g*
India prefers her left lead to her right, so Jenny spent most of the (short) time on her back asking India to take the right lead. India repeatedly takes the left, so Jenny stops her by tipping her nose and this causes India to break to a trot. After a few attempts, India is allowed to keep going on the left lead because it's also important that India learn to go forward.
And here India takes her right lead. Success! Much praise for India from Jenny. And after this, we stopped. India picked up the right lead twice when asked. No need to ask for anything more from her.
But what causes me and Jenny great glee is that India is so very balanced when asked to return to the canter. See how close she is to the fence at times? Many young horses couldn't stop that quickly without falling on their noses, but India maintains perfect balance.
I'm so very fortunate to have gotten such a great filly, and that I found Jenny to start her.
