It's over

After 4 months and 1,130 pages, I have finished Cryptonomicon. I feel as though there out to be a parade, or fireworks or something special to mark this feat. The diet Coke float I'm finishing off will have to suffice. Thanks, Stefan, for the loan of this book. I started it a few days before we left Brazil and it's been a constant by my bedside since. I've not been faithful to it, having also read mysteries by Rita Mae Brown and Janet Evanovich, numerous magazine articles, and lots poetry and stories online during this time, but not a week has gone by when I haven't read a few pages before falling asleep. The author, Neal Stephenson, does a masterful job of weaving a story and he's funny to boot. The ending felt a bit rushed, but I wasn't sorry to see it gallop along after a steady trot for week and months. If you're interested in this book, I point you to further down the page to the section on the right labeled "What I'm Reading" as there's a link to Cryptonomicon on amazon there. I'll leave it up for a while.

Now, what to read next? I have a pile of about 30 books by the bed and here are the two options. If any of you have read them or have any thoughts, such as you're Aunt Mabel loved this book! or your next door neighbor's third cousin's massage therapist thinks that the other book is the bees knees, let me know. I'll most likely start one of them tonight. What are they? They're Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz and Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer.

However, there's always an episode of Farscape S3 to enjoy. Decisions, decisions and not enough time in the day for all I want to (insert one of the following verbs here: read, watch, or ride).
