The Woods Out My Back Door

So, we moved out here in 1994 and we were surrounded by cotton fields and peach orchards. I could saddle up Magic and ride down Moseley a hundred feet and then be safely in a field. Not any longer. The cotton fields have sprouted houses and double wides and there's no longer any place to ride. Very sad. Thankfully, we do have some woods behind our house and we own that small piece of Walden. Here's what some of it looks like. I took these pics last Saturday.

Isn't that tree frabjous??

The same tree, but from the side:

I have a fascination with this sort of fungus.

And don't you think some sort of fantastical creature should be living here? Perhaps a sprite.

Remember the Appaloosa gelding for sale? Laurie sent me some more info. For starters, there's a lot of wiggle room on the price. She says that he loves to jump, swim, and is fine in a parade. Surely you need a swimming, jumping parade horse? If you do, contact her at myapdiz@bellsouth.net
