1099 Horse Camp

The weather is cooling off and it's been dry this past week, so 1099 Horse Camp was the obvious choice. We found new trail and ended up in this high meadow, coming in from the east, a way we've never been before. Usually this meadow is at the start of our rides, if we opt to head east and go up to the meadow, then canter through it to another bald and then down to the trailers. That spur adds on about a mile distance before we cross 1099 and head west towards the river. Today we went west to begin, avoiding the high balds, and then paralleled the Ocmulgee for a bit, then back east and onto new trail. It was delightful and unless Hurricane Isaac makes soup of it all this week, we'll go back and try it again next weekend. There's more new trail that we saw, but chose the left turn rather than the right. Wonder where the right goes?

Asia rocked. Cantered nicely. Led the group when asked, went off on her own when asked, and sat nicely tucked in second if that was my choice. She really is an incredible trail horse.
