Sparky came through the surgery very well and is back home, sleeping on my bed and on her right side, the side that lost the leg. WOW! It's something that sleeping on a surgery wound is nothing compared to sleeping on that bad leg. So very glad that I had the surgery done.
The top of the leg, parts of the shoulder, and a lymph node have been sent to UGA's vet school for more analysis. I'm hoping that with such a large sample that they'll come to a definitive conclusion, but for right now, Sparky is snoring away and life is good.
