India is all grown up! She went on a long trail ride at 1099 today, all the way to the swimming beach and back. She walked, she trotted, she cantered. She rated! Yes, she's got brakes, which is always nice to have. She had a good buck along the way, but learned that a good buck means that she has to canter further and longer until she can act like a sensible horse. That is until she acted like a silly goose at some scary logs and got obstinate once about not wanting to lead, but she'll outgrow that. She loaded beautifully in my stock trailer. Jenny rode Windy, the ultimate trail horse, and I rode the Princess of the Universe, who had a great time. She now understands why all that work in the round pen and the arena was necessary. All so she can go out to the river and go on trails and see lots of other horses out in the woods. Yay, India!
